Just fitted a new pair of Maxxis tyres to a pair of CrossMax SX wheels and they haven't 'settled'.....i.e. they're not running 'straight'...have deflated, manualled (mauled?!) the tyre and pumped back up to no success - any tricks???

I have had maxxis tyres before that have been poorly formed. Sent em back after noticing when fitting em.

Maxxis are single ply these days I think, they didn't used to be.......
Depends on which tyre, the DH ones are dual ply as are some of the other tyres

You should be able to bounce them onto the rim. Or alternatively put washing up liquid around the bead. If all that fails ride it hard and they will come good.

i've got the same with some schwalbe's, I can't get the front one to run straight, seems to be a manufacturing error as off the rim it looks 'wrong'.

I guess ebay bargains ain't all they're cracked up to be!

Had them a couple of years but don't often use the bike so never got round to trying to sort it until this week

The 2 tricks I employ are a) pumping a stupid PSI in a waiting for it to 'pop' into place, or b) soaping the rim.
