Ed, as Russ has already said there are loads of very very good steel modern bikes out there, Cotic soul for 1, Birdman was riding 1 yesterday
And a friend of mine has 1 too, awesome bikes. Also i know what you think of suspension forks, but have you considered a 80mm with lockout. That way you could ride locked out until you felt you needed the added comfort :idea:
