lovely clear day, no wind or rain but temps from -1 to -3 degrees C all day.

pushing 2.5hrs up, for 25 mins down...

the 12 year old GT lapped up the downhills! but i just couldnt keep up with the point and shoot modern downhill rigs i went with.

excuse the bad taste in clothing, realising i dont have any 'downhill' clothing i had to wear my motorbike jacket! and the only full face helmet i have is this old crosser number i had back in the day.

bet that was great?? :D

How did the LTS feel though? Bet it was great !!

i dont know if anyone here has been to the summit of Snowden via the main (5m) route, but is is very very knarly. bouncing off 1 foot to 3 foot stone boulders, jaggged edges and rocks with cliff faces on the outside of bends... i had to stop a couple of times just to give my arms a rest.

i dont think the boxxers were set right for my weight and the speed of the trail but the rear of the GT was great!

I did chicken out and fitted a magura on the front, looking at the front v brake the night before got me worried

I thought there was a ban on bikes on Snowdon?

there is, May till September.

mind you its not a ban as such but an agreement with other outdoor people, most of the routes around Snowden are bridleways and not footpaths.

i do recommend it, and its not downhill exclusive, loads of good xc riding to do.

its the first time ive taken a full suss bike offroad! being more of a xc rider im a late starter!
