I thought putting a smilie after a controversial post shows that you don't really mean it.... hmpphh, that was one of best gags too.
Sorry fella, I missed the smilie! Now if you'd put New Jersey Residents rather than Americans then I'd have really laughed (too much time spent living there, it's like Southend on Sea without the class - I lived there too for far too long)

I didn't pick that bike because of its lineage. I picked it because its got plastic pedals and that awful saddle.
All kidding aside, please educate me...is that really how this bike came originally?

Here's some of the details, but it was effectively the UKs 'mountain bike' before we got too influenced by the US ones. Dates from late 70s/ early 80s and was seen as an explorer bike rather than the competitive version on your side of the pond.

and a nice thread by Charlie:

Sort of shows how the UK was doing it's thing at the same time as the Repack guys, but with a decidedly English twist.

and another really cool thread (and a copy of photos to add in to the VRC threads about who invented the sloping TT)! :D

Some subjects are not worth debating.

Whether or not this is one of them might be a good start for a raging, flame-war argument.

"This isn't Arguments, this is Disagreements. Arguments are down the hall."

"No they're not."

I reckon you've nailed it there, supremely tempting though it is to respond. Don't feed the trolls!
