1991 Specialized Stumpjumper Team

Team-tastic; and the yellow/black feels right too.

I'm starting to think mine will have to be brought back to stock ....

Tasty. Understated, functional, just right.

Always wanted a Stumpy but never got one. But if had - it wouldn't be much different to this one.

Good old Stumpy, who doesnt have a soft spot for these. They never seem to lose their appeal. I must get one of these.

Nice work John, lovely complete build; very sympathetic to the period.

Slight rejig and test ride today.

New block (HG70 still available from CRC - bonus)
New stem. Shabbiest stem I own BUT it's the right size
New headset. Stronglight A9. ISO not JIS like the ******* from Kelvin cycles sold me.

Anyhow a few slightly better pics

Ride was very familiar. Did plenty of miles on this bike whilst at Uni, was my main rider for 2 and a bit years. Used to ride it with a zero deree 150 stem. Current position is a little gentler, maybe even a little short (realise the bike is on the petite size for me ;) ). Still good to get the old girl back to her former glory :xmas-cool:

Looks very nice John, love the black stealthy look, friend of mine had one of those BITD and it was one of the few bikes I liked riding.

Holy thread resurrection, Batadambull ... this thread is from back in '08!

There's a proper column on this forum for posting 'what's my xx worth' ... in case you don't get the response you need on this one ...
