Titanium frame repairs (info req'd)

Ti Repair

From memory I think I was responsible for Rody's digression.

On the basis of Rody's views about the likelihood a getting a decent reapir, I decided to leave it be given the cost, and return to steel is real for a while. These were the guys I was goign to get the qwork done by, reccommended on to me on here . STW costing about £200?ish probabaly.

Goodluck!

thanks for the advice guys.
i've had a small stroke of luck, to be honest.
over the last few years i've done a lot of work for the uk's leading aerospace engine manufacturers (no names but, you can probably guess).
anyway, a call to one of my contacts has resulted in him offering to get his best titanium welder to do the repair.
best of all, he'll do it for free!
i'll keep you posted.

Small recommendation for Paul Donohue, from Bishop Auckland

Done a couple of high end jobs for me, however it’s virtually impossible to pin him down to do any welding now, so maybe a little late to recommend him

Had a dsic tab put on by Omega on my Hei Hei and cannot recommend them for it.Its a bit messy, although 4 years down the line it hasn't snapped off, even with 4 pot hopes on it.

ok, so i picked up the frame today.
it's very straight and clean apart from the repair.
as someone mentioned, the attempted repair has resulted in a small hole in the seat tube.
luckily, my contact says this can be repaired when it is rewelded.
i'm very hopefull this will turn out ok.
if the best ti welder at rolls-royce can't repair it, there is something amiss.
the knowledge of the forum members is top quality :)
