Why oh why?

Actually to be fair we all joke that the English are so rubbish at sport but...

We are in the top ten world teams at:
Football
Cricket
Rugby
Horsey things in general

The top ten world individual sports of:
Tennis (yes Henman was ranked 6th recently)
Athletics (track and field)
Showjumping and other individual horsey things

We are world leaders in:
Race horse training
Formula one and rally car contruction

and most important we are world leaders in beating ourselves up and generally having a BAD TIME!

So the Aussies are going to win, good for them, at least they will have a good party afterward! I think we should not enter every major comp with the attitiude that to come second or third is to fail. Then we might have the attitiude and drive to retain the ashes.

Absolutely. We place a lot of pressure on our National teams to come first, but if you step back and look at the overall picture, we're not half bad!

let's not forget the current Kitesurfing world champion is English.....
why all the focus on these 'minority' sports like football and cricket.

Ture, you Brits are probably closer to 2/3rds bad

Don't forget, with Steve, Tracy and Liam we're not half bad at MTB either.
