bought a Tamiya TL01 r/c car chassis on ebay for next to nothing. it was s'posed to be a distraction from bikes. however i've ended up spending tons on it... electronic speed controller, oil filled shocks, 540sport motor, anodised bits...
oh crap, here we go again

i always wanted to get into the rc car thing but i know i wouldnt just be able to have a stock "ready to run"

i can see me ebaying serpents and losi any minite now

get the pics up

Was into RC cars years ago, had a few Tamia Escorts and Mini's and a Beetle, also had a Koyosho Nitro Lancia delta which i shortened the chassis on and fitted a Metro 6R4 shell to.

Spent about £300 on upgrades for one of the Tamia Escorts, electronic controller, fully ball raced, heat sink motor mount, hot motor, fancy shocks, drive shafts, tyres and wheels, was super quick but motor was so mental the battery was flat in under four minutes

Swapped or sold the lot years ago, always fancied an RC hellicopter though

If you think 1/10th electric is expensive for the Love of god dont even look at 1/5th scale petrol ones!
I used to race a fg comp bitd and spent thousands on it:-o
Bloody quick tho
Rob

i'm taking a break from 10th tc racing and 12th scale for a few years to give bmx ago again....I've just kept my radio gear, tools and chargers in case I want to give it a go again. (i have to admit i am missing it a bit already but I cant afford both)

Might be worth having a look at mardave v12...i used to run one for a laugh as well as the tc and 12th and they are so cheap it is great...they can take some right abuse too.

Here's a good one if you want to stick with your tamiya:

I used to race 1/8th nitros.
Kyosho turbo burns and Inferno's
3.5cc engines , tuned exhausts, 35,000 rpm , 3bhp
Went like $hat off the shovel
Great noise , awsome smell!!!!!

i remember seeing the infernos in the mags , always covered in mud , looked a right laugh

Team associated RC10 world edition (early one) with Yokomo 14 double motor sat up in the loft somewhere.

Also had a Mardave IC car that looked like a stock car...very agricultural in its workings.

And briefly had a schumaker cat2000
