COOLWALL: Are bar-ends cool?

See, I'm torn with the voting... As far as I'm concerned, they're uncool - flat bars look soooo much better without them... BUT I will always use them as I like having a range of positions for my hands, and I couldn't have a bike without them...

Some ends are cooler than others!

Only Onza Tis and purple Control Stix are cool!

Have a soft spot for ultra stubbies, though not sure why...

Totally agree about the flat bar etiquette, mind.

Idea: lets see some pics of the most uncool bar ends you can find!

Starters: Not cool - (ignore the "bike")
They are way too high.

To look cool they've just got to line up with the stem.
And before anyone says it - that there is NOT my idea of a stem!

I voted cool - of course!

Voted yes, but they are some caveats...

bar ends must be short and stubby, they must also be at the same angle as a stem, and must never ever be used with risers

For me they epitomise the early 90's, which means they are retro, hence they must be cool...

I have some on my Kona, and it has riser bars

but it makes long climbs more comfy, plus they are quite funky x-lite stubbie ones ..

Cool! I like putting my hands on them...

I'm caught in the middle. Used them- not used them- not bothered....

Uncool! I don't need extensions to get me up dem hills...
