well, if Honda goes, apparently Toyota will be thinking along similar lines. That's two gone, possibly. Then who else? In the current economic climate, it's possible a few may go.

This is what they're saying on the radio anyway. What do I know?

Honda will make an announcement tomorrow so I hear, the rumour is that they will pull out of F1 in March '09

Let it all go down the pan I say. Much rather watch historic Grand Prix cars anyway- they go sideways AND do overtaking! now when did you last see that in F1?

Honda and Toyota are backmarkers no matter how much money they throw at it, there disapearence will have as much impact as Minardi and Jordan when they called it a day- ie, very little. There is always someone waiting to fill the grid space. As for Williams being in financial trouble, what's new? How many times has Frank remortaged his house to keep afloat? more times than you can imagine.
Its just more 'we're all fooked' sensationalist shite from the media again and that Croft guy hasn't a sodding clue what goes on in F1 apart from the press releases that land on his lazy journalist arse desk.

Honda and Toyota maybe backmarker but they are some of the most profitable car makers out there , so if they are feeling the pinch some others will follow .
and in current climate , not sure many will have the money to take their place .

I won't shed a tear if all the major car manufacturers went tits up. They have had it too easy for too long, got overbloated, swallowed up all the smaller manufacturers and fed the public with dull and unimaginably disappointing products. This is the kick up the ass they have needed for a long time.
Its about value for money at the end of the day. Things are tight. The shareholders in Japan (and lets face it, the Japanese have never grasped what is required to win in motor racing) have just got sick of ploughing endless sums of money into F1 for very little return ( in fact they are a bit of a laughing stock) whilst good ole Bernie and Mr Whippy cream off all the riches. Interesting how both Toyota's and Honda's 'secret' unofficial Le Mans programes are still in full swing- things cannot be that bad now can they?

Anyone who follows the WRC will know that both Ford and Citroen are constantly citing cost and accountability as factors in their future involvement- it's just something these companies do, generates collumn inches for next to no outlay.

people are quick to comment on f1 and all that jazz but they dont bother getting off the sofa to go out to their local track and watch some actual racing

get off your arse and smell the burnt oil for fook sake :x
