Today's Ride

Warm today, sunny with a cool breeze, perfect riding weather.

Went for a longer ride today, haven't been out for a while due to injuries and other things. Headed up in the direction of Sherwood Pines, through some nice woodland and open country. Bumped into a friend out walking in the middle of nowhere and stood about talking to him for an hour or so. While talking the amount of people that came by was pretty unreal, not sure if some were lost, and for the rest of the ride i saw quite a few out, bikers too.

Once i made it to Pines its hard to not at least ride some of the trails, which themselves were quite empty. They were riding well, as were some of the trails on the way home and i seemed to be able to keep my pace up all the way.

Another great ride on a beautiful day.

Re:

It's been a while...

Only managed to cover a couple of hundred miles in the last 6 weeks or so. Frustratingly mixed weather - leads to some challenging rides.

I've ridden in mud, snow, ice, rain recently. It's all been great.

I thought I was fit, and then I moved back to Yorkshire from sanitised and flat Hertfordshire. Jeeezus, my Granny ring has seen some action. There, I said it. I'm not ashamed. I scoffed at it six months ago. Today I don't know what I'd do without it. It has been the only way I've been able to make it across some of the terrain I've encountered recently. On a couple of occasions where I've resolutely attempted to stay on the middle ring, only to round a corner and almost burst into tears finding the path getting considerably steeper, it was the only way I could have coped with the deafening roar from my lungs and thighs. But, not once have I given up. So thank you Granny ring you're welcome on every ride.

Speaking of God's Country...she has really let herself go...and is now a flytipping, junkfood addicted, dope fiend, in possession of a pack of dogs that she lets shit indiscriminately everywhere, making some places I've been impassable - no, err, shit!

I've been all over the place, all points of the compass. The TPT has been explored as far as Silkstone Common to the west and Sykehouse to the east.

Lovely to see the memorial for pat, missed here for sure

Re:

Got out for an hour around the local copse and river bank, very windy, quite wet and muddy. Gonna try again tonight after I've finished interviewing and sprogs in bed.

Love this breezer but dont thinking i can handle the peaks etc on it as a rigid. Still fun though

Re:

Cheers dude, mike sold me a pearler of a frameset, just bolted the dx to it haha. Gonna take it out again later as long as the lights are charged... .

Warm again today.

Glorious sunshine, very warm when in it, just t-shirt weather, though the air was quite cool so you noticed it staying in the shade too long.

Went for another longer ride again today, the legs though were feeling very heavy, thought that would have helped push the pedals round, apparently not. On the plus side the trails have dried up, everywhere was rolling very very fast, it was great fun and nearly caught me out on a couple of corners as i was carrying way more speed than over winter in the mud and snow. The route, which has been taking me around 5hrs to complete, took me just under 4 today, though because the trails were so much fun i didn't really stop. A couple of times to wait for walkers and then at a Park next to mine as the flowers were coming out. Lots and lots of people out today, every one of them said hello, apart from some of the mountain bikers i passed, too busy looking down at me as i was dirty and not on a full carbon full bounce full matching type journey.

A fast fun ride, on a blisteringly beautiful day

What a glorious day :D Sunshine
Took the steed out for a run round the local res'rs. Fairly dry under-wheel in comparison to the last few weeks. Still a bit cold and windy but great to be out and about and feeling Spring in the air :D
