Cobra Cycles No.74 - Reynolds 531 British steel finished P3

Re:

I know Paul quite well although I haven’t seen him in a good while
His shop was on New Hall Lane in Preston. He was quite a competitive cyclist
Back in the day. Well known locally for building very good frames
As mentioned he builds frames for Hetchins under license
I have forwarded a link of the post to a friend of his so if I get any feedback
Will let you know

Cool. It's screaming out for the piano black suntour xc pro group.

This was an option at one point as I found some xc pro wheels in the shed, the derailleurs would have looked cool if I had gone with a JpS gold theme on the decals ....... I do have a few options on the table that would go well with the black but I do have a firm favorite that would look spiffing.

Now that would be great, if we could get some input of just when they were made, how many were made, even if they had a name

would be nice to hear a little history about the brand and the frameset.

Thanks Bowser

Re:

Now ...... Options

In my head I'm sure I have decided but options are as follows.

Deore LX, I have a full groupset of this and so far I don't have a 1990 Lx grouped bike.

Deore XT, again, I have a full groupset but I'm thinking that its too easy an option.

XTR, Full minty groupset except for headset and front derailleur, was saving it for something, just not sure what.

Simplex 'Fun Bike' , now you dont see this stuff much but I have a nos gear and drivetrain so need to source wheelsand brakes. they made the MTB group for Mavic.

Mavic Dakar, I have a full groupset bar the seatpost. I just tried the 28hole wheels in it for an idea .... it is nice

and a pic inside to show how bright the decals are

Are they pink or red decals? Also are you putting on skinwalls as I think all black tyres would be overkill on a black frame imo.

Re:

They are pink, hot pink, cerise pink ....... Bright pink!

And yes, they will be tan walls

Re:

A suitable san marco ergo/rolls I picked up from Peachy.......... looks pale on the picture, but it is bright in real life.
