Terry Dolan Cougar

Retro Newbie
Hello, I'm new to this forum so hoping I've posted in the correct category.

I'm after some info about my Cougar. I absolutely love the paint job, it's like a 90's race disco. Does anyone have any idea what tubing was used, the year it was made or anything else? When I bought the bike 10years ago I was told it was used in the 1992 Olympics as a training bike hmm.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Martin

Re:

I think you are correct about it being an Olympic training bike, it stirs a memory about it for sure.

Someone more expert than myself here should be able to give you more info.

Nice frame by the way.

Thanks. He couldn't give me any more detail than that. It's running Shimano 600 and was fully serviced last year. Heres a few more pics.

I spotted someone suggested that on another post so I've done it, thanks. I spotted he replied to a post on here once too. Thanks

Nice bike.

The tubing is aluminium, probably Oria 7020.

Its unlikely to be a Liverpool built frame as Cougar pretty much stuck to steel in-house at least in the days when Terry owned the brand.

Don't let that put you off though. The imported aluminium frames came from a very good Italian builder who did a lot of outsourced work. With a different set of badges, this could be a Wilier or a Pinarello!
