Yep, leave the paint alone. For the correct decals see Gil_M on here as he has them on file and his repro's are ace.

Nice project is that, watching with interest.

I'm rebuilding mine atm.

That's very nice! Are you showing your progress on here? Is that same year as mine? Thanks for the reply too

Yeah mate but not progressed much recently as I've been playing with modern bikes.

Ah .. i didn't even own a bike until i bought this so it has my full attention. Iv not messed around with them since I was about 15 and I seem to be doubting myself with every little job I'm doing! I had a ride to the canal with my lil lad, was only a couple of miles but it was smooth sailing all the way. I need to try keep the bike rideable while doing it up. What new bike you got?

Re:

Added some xt brand new old blocks to my brakes, think I possible paid too much for them but they were brand new and boxed so it is what it is ... also got a seat cover just for now until i find a seat I like to match up, added a few little touches, like purple wire ends (have no idea proper name) and some orange valve caps, purple water bottle bolts.

Also got a orange velcro chain guard (from orange themselves) and a orange waterbottle along with it. Just waiting on stickers from Gil and a purple waterbottle holder. Iv got some touch up paint pens coming too. Decided not to repaint frame in anyway, gonna leave it as is. Bike is super light and I'm happy. Oh im gonna spray my seatpost black at some point also and iv added some light weight black handlebars. Im on the look out for a decent seat and a decent suspension 1" threaded I believe. I wanna keep forks I have when I get some suspension just incase.

Few pics..

My missus just adding the decals... only slight issue is you can just see like a shadow of were the old decals where. I think it looks smart tho, the new ones I got off gill must be slightly different in size... just the main tube stickers have sort of a orange shadow ... again I think it looks ace so I'm happy... ill get some pics once finished. Im also thinking I might keep the bike rigid without suspension forks . Any advice welcome about the forks

Re:

Nice to see the slightly less common Suntour option on a Clockwork of that era. I remember having that same set BITD

Also loving the purple/orange fade. That's a classy ride mate!
