Kona Explosif 1999 Rebuild

I've ridden it both ways in the past. I've sold my last road bike recently, so will use this as a replacement with road(ish) tyres on.

Re:

That’s a lovely bike! I can relate to buying back the same thing having done that with a car I loved! Nice one

Sweet bike mate. I have a '99 Lava Dome with 120mm SID xx forks (set to 100mm, with 30mm sag) and the bike handles really good. Im running a 70mm stem and have tried a 40mm too. The 40mm makes the bike wicked downhill but climbing is tricky so I use the 70mm. How are you finding the handling on your Explosif?

I’ve always loved the 853 Explosif. Fabulous bike.

Changed out to wide bars and XT 1x11. Fantastic ride. It’s like riding on a knife edge compared to my more recent bikes. Good to be back on her.
