Favoured method of chainstay protection?

I've got to put something on the LTS, just wondered what you all slap on there aside from the obvious sharkfins?

yeah first saw a mate do it years ago , he always got it very neat and didnt have to use any way of securing it

made proper protectors look crap

Self amalgamating tape

Been using it for years and its superb, do a search on Google for it

Better than anything else, try it and you will be hooked

BITD it was the WTB chainstay protector. Now i use Lizardskins

Self-amalgamating tape sounds quite good, but am I really the only one who thinks sticking something black over a light or bright-coloured frame is a f'n ugly solution? Kind of protecting the frame, but only by never being able to see it at its best.

Anyway, I use a few layers of transparent waterproof tape. Renew it every now and again, doesn't seem to damage the paint, and you can still see the colour.

i see it more as protecting the metal from rust as the chain punishes the paint into submission

do your feet not wear the paint from the stays :?

Lizard skins here too.

That way you can colour co-ordinate a bit too
