Evening all,
Ive got a new to me Cambridge audio amp, more commercial type than home hifi, but the sound is good.
Works great when plugged directly into my cd player but buzzes really badly when I try and add my graphic into the mix?
To be honest the sound is that good i dont really need to bother with the graphic, i was just curious to know why it would do it?

They're getting quite old now. A quick squiggle through google images seems to show different woofers. Why dont you look for a set with as near as dammit specifications? You can always tweak the crossover to suit.

They're getting quite old now. A quick squiggle through google images seems to show different woofers. Why dont you look for a set with as near as dammit specifications? You can always tweak the crossover to suit.
This is true, even my set have 2 different variants (I think my dad must have had a warranty repair at some stage and I think they may have been generally problematic).
I did have a look at some speaker suppliers (mainly the pro audio specialists that offer replacement drivers) and I can find plenty of 8ohm, 8 inch drivers from makers like Fenton, Skytec (no way), QTX or Celestion. But I don't have any point of reference for the originals to understand what parameters (I guess efficency and TS are required for them to work with the crossover, tweeter and cabinet design) I need to look for. The originals are not particularly high quality though, cheap pressed steel baskets, spade terminals and smallish magnets so a set of something like the 8 inch Fentons I found would look on the surface to fit (well this could also be difficult as the drivers is recessed into a surround so it needs to be a specific outer diameter) and work they may not work well with the rest of the set up.
They do sound really nice and work really well with my Pioneer A300x amp so I'm keen to keep them running.
