Well its taking shape since I picked it up on Monday.
Frame cleaned up a bit, 'orrid decals removed and 'proper' ones badly applied  yes, I know, the down-tube ones are too near the head-tube and hei hei should only be on one side. Ah well.
(Thanks Cass for supplying them, and Gil for making them)
Vicious forks (thanks Gil) and BB7 mocked up (rota looks a bit big dunnit).
Just waiting for the rear eccentric hub and hopefully just a quick throw it together.
Cheers

Hey Carl.

One word. ACE

Its one frame I very much lust over and hope to own one day.

Looks to be a quality build - rear hub will allow for very clean lines.

Love it!

My 98 Hei Hei, got it from Jones, only has the Hei Hei on the drive side, they are the original decals I believe, could be that whoever had it before removed them I suppose.

Should they be on both?

Cass

?The model name on the top tube?
Mine has them on both sides.

Can't wait to see what it looks like with the Eno... 'might encourage me to do the same to mine...

but 4 singlespeeds and no working bikes with gears might be a bit silly .

My gut feeling is yes, simply because all my other Kona's that still have their original decals have the model on both sides of the top-tube. However my Hei Hei also has repro decals, but as they are so easy to damage I suspect it is the case that yours started out with two and lost one somewhere along the way.

re:

looks like the spec I'm gonna go after on my next build, are thoose the new P2 fork? do u know the axle to crown height? looks really nice!
