I'm not sure these really belong here, they ain't retro, but i like to look at other peoples bikes, and, well, I'm a bit bored.

These are the bikes that get thrashed throughout the winter, and I don't mind wearing bits out/damaging them. Saving the Retros for best :)

The Scott Scale 920 is carbon, 1x12 GX, Mainly as it came, but now has Ules grips, a flite and Hope Race brakes. It's just had a new set of tyres that I haven't tried yet. Weighs about 24lb and goes like stink. I need to add more lightness.

The Orange segment was their second 29er (2014/15) and has 110mm travel (120mm pikes at the front). Lots of Hope parts, Renthal bars & stem, Reverb Dropper (!) Weighs well over 30lb, but rides really nicely and doesn't feel heavy at all.

So, I open them up to your critique!

Nowt wrong with that Segment. 1x a good idea. I'd have some different components on if it was mine but that's down to personal choice.

Go on then, what would you change? It's a work in progress....

I'd go for the new Hope cranks with Hope BB F20 pedals. I was planning that for my Five before I had to give it up. Floating Hope rotors purely for bling factor. Oval chainring, Hope or Absolute Black. Thomson dropper. Biggest improvement I made to mine (2nd hand) over the reluctant Reverb it came with. With Wolftooth ReMote. And if I was really pushing the boat out on eBay - Fox forks & shock.
