Ringlé [Super[Duper]]Bubba/SuperEight hubs: Why so brittle?

Hi,

I keep reading here and there horror stories about the aforementioned hubs with broken flange(s). With indeed many pictures on the web as evidences of this (though with regular 3x spoke lacing pattern) :? Ringlé hubs are often referred as timebombs or fuses. The SuperDuperBubba seems to be the longer lasting, but why? Does the hole number takes into account? More generally, why are Ringlé hubs that brittle? I mean, Ringlé wasn't the only one to manufacture CNC hubs BITD and I don't remember other CNC hubs of that era having such a high failure rate.

Thanks for educating me.
