Had a happy day and found a decent fork for my Claude. An old, though nos Onza tuff guy 26" trials fork.Straight bladed, tig welded Cromo with Magura and disk mounts.

Onza are still around and have an ebay site certainly I've found a few rarities in there and I think a couple of years ago had some wheel discs with the muddy fox logo(missed those )

I Think the MTB God's had it in for me today.
Got the Cove Stiffee out for a short local ride this morning when I noticed the cranks felt hard to turn, after taking the cranks off I found the non-driveside bearing was completely seized :shock: after a quick rummage I found a spare BB bearing which I fitted and headed out.
I got as far as the beach (about 3 miles) when I decided to go off-piste down by the old sea wall, only to hear a loud "PFSSSSSS!!!" and tyre sealant flying everywhere, I'd somehow managed to puncture on a sharp bit of steel rebar just poking out the sand :facepalm: put a decent sized hole in the tyre too, too big for the sealant to fix, and of course as I was "only riding local" I'd not brought any spares :roll:
So I had a long walk back home, and can't find the tubeless repair kit I had, just stuck an inner tube in the tyre for the time being.

Wondering how best to fix the hole, or if its time for a new tyre (£15 from PX for the same one) :?

not been out for last few weeks mainly due to weather but we finally got a ride organised with Kenny and Jock for kelty/meedies.

then friday morning woke up with the lurgy which got worse on sat and i managed to slightly recover on sunday so still managed a ride as needed out on bike but couldnt do any hills etc.

at least this weekend was showing some signs of spring!

maybe a pitmedden meet is required in a few weeks?

kenny also suggested doing kinoul hill and surrounding areas in perth if that would be of interest to folk.

This year’s been awful so far, done a grand total of 68 miles. Work, weather and wean all conspiring against me.
Badly need out, had been good with what I was eating and lost 5kg, but 10 days in Dubai saw a big chunk of that back on.
Back to normality now, wee ones 1st birthday just passed and hopefully all the weekend family visiting over for a while. Still working a lot of Saturdays but Sunday’s now freer.

Also up for Pitmedden at some point now I know how to get there. The Assaggai has had a few tweeks, front disc,better tyres and 1 x 6 speed gears. Might get rear disc soon as well. Riding a bit every week but for the first time ever getting a wee bit fat so need more exercise, or I'll need to shop for bigger waisted breeks!!!!

Bought a tandem at the bike station today, complete for £5. No room to keep it in warehouse so my supervisor twisted my arm to take it away. Will convert to long-tail cargo bike. Its a Pashley complete with drum drag brake. Oh yes and did I mention it cost me £5

Pitmedden would be good, enjoyed my first ride there, seen a few people on Facebook mention Kinnoul Hill too.

Out for a 20 mile road/gravel ride. Luckily for me my usual loops go nowhere near populated areas anyway, but I only passed 3 other cyclists the entire ride and they were all going the other way on the far side of the road. Really needed it. Worked six days straight last week, doing 2 to 3 times our usual volume and was mentally burned out. Could be the last for a while as despite supposed to being on a week off, it looks like in getting drafted as double cover to help out struggling branches.

On a positive note, I did spot the first lot of hedge porn I've seen in years! Farmer had been cutting back the road facing side of a field hedge. It must have been buried there since god knows when. And no, I didn't stop to check it out, I left it for those without the internet.
