Help to ID Sancineto frame

Hi,

I recently purchased a Sancineto frame, and have had trouble identifying the model and frame tubing.

The bike has been resprayed in the past and no stickers are left to id the tubing.

Can anyone assist me?

hi, most of those i just googled have loud smart spray jobs,so why would some one want to take the trouble to strip all the old paint[which could have been a clue to the model] and spray it that dark boring unobtrusive colour ? stealth look i suppose .the forks are deffinately 1990/s .its quality alright ,i like the seat stays.the way they are flattened and panto'd lush.
.so it could be sl or it could be slx guessing really,most of the ones on google are columbus tubing.good luck.
just been on google again.. if forks are original looks like the columbus EL.although some have cute
cut outs in the h tube lugs

I have a couple of Sancinetos with the same flattened seat stays. Both are Columbus Neuron tubed, and extremely light (for steel). The chrome stays on one of them is in poor condition - combination of chrome and very thin tubes is not great for longevity. Perhaps this is why someone Hammerited it?

I have also seen the same stays on an SLX New (not SLX) - I think they didn't start using these stays until the next gen tubes - ie Neuron, Brain, Nemo, etc and not SL, SLX, TSX, etc, but have seen a MAX frameset with the same.

I would get it off to Bob Jackson or Argos, for a proper paintjob, once you've checked it for integrity. They are some of the best frames I have ever seen and owned - better than my Pinarello Stelvio or Colnago.
