Im thinking of going to Scotland next year with my girlfriend for a biking/walking general relaxing holiday but ive never been there,im looking at West Scotland as its meant to be milder.

Has anyone done this and can recommend some good places to stay, dont mind b&b or self catering place really?

cheers ;)

Tourist guide to Scotland:

West coast = midgies and incessant rain
East coast = often slightly cooler due to sea "breezes" but perpetual sunshine

The good news is, over most of the country there's not much distance between the two so you can see both without too much bother ;-)

lol,now now gents no arguements please

Thanks for all the info,i shall look into all these places,i know most of the country is spectacular so im sure to find somewhere good ;)

Only while they have their other arm in your pocket for your wallet ;-)

east coast- cold and dour folk ;)
Ah well, if we were too friendly everyone would want to move here :)

For the OP though... if you're wanting a walking holiday the West coast is almost certainly a better bet - take your pick as to which part of it you go to, it's different all the way up but I can't see you going far wrong...
