This question has probably been covered and I’m sure I’ve read it but can’t find it...

In a nutshell I have a 1992 Kona with one of those seatpost clamps to accommodate a cable to a canti but want to fit a v brake?

What’s the solution guys?
Cheers

Re:

As jimo746 said and highlighted in the link, you can easily do the conversion to V-Brake if you already have a Dog Collar.

Picture from link:

The fugly method is one of these:

..... which I ditched, and temporarily made my own from a rear light bracket and a cable adjuster like this:

..... until I bought the later version of the Kona Dog Collar like this:

Thanks a lot guys. I might have a go at making something like the one above. Otherwise I’ll stick with cantis on the lava dome rebuild ...

Or if anyone has one of those alloy brackets above then Giz a shout please ...

you want a Zoobits V jobby, made for this

Re:

I've always thought you could use a seat post clamp turned 90 degrees with a hollow bolt. Never tried.

Hi, with V Brakes i have always run a full outer cable, you do not need stops then, just ties keeps the crud out too ;) :)
