i just got one of these recently. are those the original pedals? if so which ones are they. i think mine arent original

Nice.

Pedals weren't original as it was built up from a frame, fork and stem.

Personally I would just go with Deore XT flat pedals is there matching with the groupset.

i found this catalogue article that says it came with deore xt components. that didnt include pedals?

I believe the SPDs didn't hit the market until '91 so would have just missed being spec'd on the Proflex if it came with any pedals at all.
 
How odd that this catalogue version has struts welded between the seat and chain stays. Did this feature not make production?

mine has spd m737 pedals on it, but i think they were released a few years later. since mine has all xt components i assume mine came with either pd m730 or m735. but i havent met another owner that had the original pedals.

the proflex on that image appears to have 3 elastomers instead of one. i believe the bike came with a few options on elastomers. i read somewhere that it was adjustable for weight or terrain...
