26 years ago I bought myself my first proper mountain bike, a Giant Cadex CFM-3, this would be the bike that led to my first few race wins...until it got stollen that is.

So here we are, 26 years later and I've manage to get another one, time to finish what I started :D

She's a work in progress so I'll be chasing around for parts.

It is...if you don't get too close. Not bad for the age though.

What do you have planned for it? Looks like there isn't much needed. 8)

Still looking for wheels, back in the day I had a set of very early hope hubs (in purple) on Mavic 231, and also a purple seatpost. Purple stem is on the way. Could do with a Vetta SL saddle too.

They ride well, could do with new elastomers but I’ve got a set of Manitou 2 en route so I’ll make do for now.

I use to race one of these back in 93 with nearly the exact spec as this one, it’s bloody good fun to ride, but I don’t know how we use to race the Malverns and SAMS on these

Yep me too still got it as well. I grew up in the Forest of Dean (still close by) and a lot of what people ride there now I rode on my rigid cfm in the 90’s.
