Dave Yates Donkis Nob

Re:

Or multiple colours...

This one was finished in enamel, and has been around the world more times than i can mention, and it really has stood up to the test of time.

Just remembered this one - fantastic history iirc

Im still in awe of the mans exploring stories, the bike has seen some of the roughest trails in the known hemisphere, everything works like the day it was born, still running the same drivetrain, brakes and wheels etc, but the paint finish is in such good condition. I know enamel costs a little more, but if its going to be a keeper, it might be money well spent.

Looks great as is! Love the paint that matches the rims!!

NO.

I think I agree, it’s a bit of a messy colour.

Yeah, really not a nice colour combi imho.

It'll look a million times better with something different.

That looks awesome, I really like that idea. Food for thought.

Decisive as ever. Pace RC30s won’t work as the frame is suspension corrected.
Mag 21’s it is. A pair has been sourced, when they arrive I can head to the painters. Still got to decide on a colour.

Just been to Argos to chat about painting and i dont mind admitting i'm quite excited.
The decals just arrived here too from DY.

Progress report:
The frame is at Argos, being readied for painting. The fork legs, fork brace and original Dave Yates decals have been sent down to reach them this week. Im told by Argos, that they're hoping to do the first blast of the frame this week to check for any hidden damage. Can't wait to see pictures.

Bits sourced so far (some are here and some are on their way)
Middleburn RS1 crankset with pace rings and all titanium bolts
Flite titanium saddle
Renthal RC Sub 130 handlebars in silver
Odi Attack grips.
XTR M900 headset NOS
XTR M900/Mavic 2017 SUP Blue Label rims NOS
XTR M900 rear derailleur
Ritchey Megabite ZMax tyres.

This is all starting to come together nicely. And you might be starting to get an idea of the build too. Pictures to follow when a few more of the above bits arrive here.
