Took my road bike out for its second outing today - beautifully sunny, bit breezy, but got to make the most of days like today in November!

Still getting used to the campag shifting after being used to SS, thumbies or low-normal MTB gearing, but getting there. Did 1 hr 30 of quality exercise, no idea how far or fast because Garmin's battery was dead, so not stressed about it, just rode and enjoyed every minute of it.

Feeling more comfortable on a road bike now, enjoying the progress you make and the speed sensation. Have just spoiled the benefit of it all with a Penguin frenzy though!

Wore my new Mountain Equipment merino base layer under a SS jersey and it was really comfy - it was a recommendation from here, and I can recommend it too for about £21.

Road riding has its place, I do 90% of my training on the road because its easier to be specific in what you want to do, but its not as much fun as off-road.
And dont forget, effort wise, 1hr off-road = 2hrs on the road ;)
