Hi,
Need to replace a long lost threaded headset on a '92 Explosif. Any idea what the correct stack height is for the original P2 forks?

Thanks

ps this is my first retro build in a long long time so shoot me down if there is an obvious answer here!
Everything I have is treadless so i've had to google how a threaded headset even works!

Just measured the Impact headset on mine ('92 Explosif and threaded P2) - looks to be around 40 mm. BikePro suggest 39 mm stack height for the 1" version which looks identical other than diameter http://www.bikepro.com/arch_products/he ... _hset.html

Great, thanks Jon. Stupid question but does the stack height need to be exact or can shorter be ok?

I've never tried but I think it is OK to use spacers with threaded steerers viewtopic.php?p=933449

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can confirm.
