I've been scanning old slides to digital recently, found one of my KHS as it was, back in central China (Qinghai Province) in 1993. Complete with matching fluo accesories  It was the early 90's...

Will add more pics as and when I find them

Re:

I almost bought that bike. Instead I bought a Specialized stumpjumper fs because of the front fork. Big mistake. The fork sucked, the rims were cottage cheese. I remember that KHS weight under 25 lbs and had full xt on it.

Re:

That would be the team model I think, the comp was LX throughout. Rides great though, I still have it :)

That's correct. I bought one of these recently but I am looking for a smaller frame so I can actually ride it.

Great bike you have there.

Re:

The Team was True Temper OX Ultra II and full (except the seatpost) M900 XTR. Came in at 22.9lbs as standard.

The Comp was True Temper AVR 3T with Shimano LX. Coming in at 25.3lbs as standard.

Lovely bike OP, looking forward to seeing more of it.

XTR wasn't available in 1991 when I was shopping for bikes. It must have been added to the team in 1992.

oK, it's taken me a while to find time to scan more pics, but here's another one, taken somewhere in the northern tibetan plateau
