Raleigh DHO build

Retro Newbie
I've been gathering parts for the last year or so (extremely slowly) but I've now got to the point where I could start putting it together.

So far it's fitted with Rockshox totems, fox vanilla rc shock and hope tech dh wheels (thanks to this forum!!) The tyres are flat, I just chucked on a set of old maxxis wet screams I had lying around.

Next up is XT M8000 1x11 groupset, some hope M4 brakes, and then all the finishing kit. I'm not sure about cranks, I used to want some middleburn RS7, ultimately I'd like some AC cranks but these don't exist anymore. I might keep it British and get some hope cranks.

Nice project Charlie, the wheels look ace on this! Glad they've gone on something rad. Hope cranks would be pretty snazz if you go down that route!

I’ve finally finished the build on this, here’s the spec:

Raleigh DHO
Fox Vanilla RC
Rockshox Totem
Hope Tech DH Wheelset
Hope rear skewer
Hope M4 brakes with pro levers
203mm rear, 183mm hope discs
Shimano XT M8000 Shifter
Shimano XT M8000 Cranks
Shimano XT M8000 Derailier
Shimano XT M8000 Bottom Bracket
Shimano XT M8000 11-46 Cassette
Shimano XTR Chain
Hope retainer 34t chainring
DMR V12 pedals
Can creek 40 headset
Thomson elite seatpost
Ragley Seatclamp
WTB Pure Pro Saddle
Renthal Fatbar Lite
Renthal Apex stem
Renthal lockon grips
Maxxis Highroller 2 2.3

This has been a fun build - I’ve enjoyed mixing the older frame with more modern components. It’s also been refreshing building it with lots of new parts rather than having to refurb lots of parts that then turned out to be beyond repair. It’s certainly been satisfying getting it all back together!

I can't wait to take it out for a shred this weekend!

Nice, that looks like it will be loads of fun, let us know how it rides. That bb looks high :)

Re:

Does your DHO have a 1 1/2" headtube? Or did you get Totems with 1 1/8" steerer on them?
I am looking for some forks for my DHO project and am finding it difficult as I have a 1 1/8" headtube on my frame.
