This was in the 90's one of my favorites bicycles. I've been looking for one new or in perfect condition, for a long time. And it was in 2018 when I have found it in Germany.

It looks great in the advertisment, but has some parts changed: The stem  and a cheap seat. It looks like some one was using this bicycle as a city bike and was not very confortable riding it.

Lot of job cleaning the parts, but once done, they look like new. Perhaps that is one problem, it doesn´t look retro, needs some rust chips, etc  Not for me, this time I like cleand and shiny :)

The original wheel set is amazing. Very nice .

Re: Marin Team Issue: The rebirth.

Done. And with a surprise. It is the lightest bicycle I own , this one with all that stuff weighs only 10.7kg

The last detail will be a NOS Cat Eye Mity 2 :D

Nice bike ....I always wanted to ask about it? only that 1996 Marin used japanese Areto tubing, good?bad? or what reason?
year ago and year after always Tange tubing :?:

Re: Marin Team Issue: The rebirth.

I will check wich type of tubing this model use, but it is quite light so for me is a good frame. Tange was a common tubing, Areto not.

Re: Marin Team Issue: The rebirth.

It is quite fast. I have done some Km on it and it is different. Quite responsive, brakes are a bit sharp (kool stop pads) I like the XT shifters more than moderns, very fast changes.

I like, it is a bicycle for short and fast routes. For races likes the 90´s, about 35-45km and narow paths.

Re: Marin Team Issue: The rebirth.

Manitou or the Z2 Atom bom?. With the Stay home situation, the fork performace is secondary, the Bicycle is in a turbotrainer so... which one looks better?
