Latido CT301

Re:

Some bits that are envisioned to go onto the Latido :D

Still on the lookout for a front mech and a seat post in 27.0 (XT..), headset-wise I seem to be sorted..
Think I'll be swapping the Biopace HP rings for some actual round rings.
Anybody got a set of black fc-m730 cranks they'd like to part with?

The left pedal is there, it's just not in the pic

Re:

Received a NOS XTR hp-m900 1" threaded headset today, so focused on the front end of the project a bit.
Not sure yet if the XTR grey matches both the shiney black of the cantilevers, as well as the shiney fluoro yellowness of the forks .

I think I'll just try and see what it looks like..

:D

Re:

Progress on this build is sloooow, at least slower than expected..
Partly due to lack of time, but also due to my inability to properly install the bottom cup of the XTR headset. Hopefully, the headset press that is on its way will help there, so that I can move to the next issue: installing the crown race
Cabling also promises to be a challenge, as most of the cable guides seem rather narrow/tight.
But, let's take this step by step.

Here's an impression of the rolling chassis I quickly put together a while ago, just to get a first glimpse. Looks to have a fairly short top tube.

Work in progress , slowly getting there..

Finally, the freakin' headset gave in..

Just need to cut the steerer, cut cables and finetune brakes and derailleurs. And add grips..

Done..

Re:

Done :D :!:

Was planning to enter this in this month's BoTM, but honestly, I'm not sure of the age of the frame; 1989? 1990?, so I'll have another go later this year :)
Quite happy with the result, I must say!

Re:

Couple more pics; decided to go for thumbies instead of the brifters and to replace the Biopace rings by round black SG ones.

Thanks for watching!

Re:

That's really nice.

I've never owned or ridden one but I do have a soft spot for some of these early composite, bonded and mixed material frames.

Never heard of the brand before but like others here i really like it. Very unusual design features and would love to know how it rides
