Re: Re-Imagined.
Noted, Slightly amended....
This is my own on going saga, Labour of Love, Bain of my life.
A Roberts White Spider II, heavier weight mix tubeset built for bruising and taking a punishment and to throw downhill.
With a lot of help and guidance, and those boy hood dreams of yesteryear garnished from staring at magazines of racers in far off lands far better than me, i wanted to try a drop bar build with a suspension fork, to try and build it period correct, non shimano, and have the flexibility of re-building it with other parts if it was a massive fail.
I say on going because whilst the brake reach is ok for me, it isnt right due to being too far forward over the front wheel for the suspension with the current Salsa Drop stem, i need to reign it in a bit.
Im hoping the solution will be the choice ive made in handlebar stems, i guess only time will tell, i have the correct stem, i now just need to refinish it, in the Etto paint finish.
I made the decision to use the Tioga Crank for this one, because i had the Bell Egg rings too and painstakingly refinished it all, and it took the Bitch of time to fit, I would save a ton of weight by fitting the Suntour XC pro, but its a frame build i wanted to play around with, try it drop bar and with flat bars, using the Tioga crank, i though it might have been nice to have a stem colour matched, use some more Tioga to finish off the option build, sadly finding a seatpost and a good enough disc drive is proving very difficult.
