Thumbs up for you, couldn't agree more, if we want to live on this planet together it just can't be a capitalist survival of the fittest global economy imho

Chin up Mike, you can have Sarah Palin next time!

Do understand that Obama isn't anywhere near being a socialist by any definition of that word in use outside the USA, and obviously most of us here understand it in our terms.

My own sense of Obama is that his big weakness is that he is governed by a need to be popular and to be acceptable to people, which might make him duck big issues. The notion that he will increase taxes in a way that contradicts the program on which he ran for the presidency doesn't fit with what we have seen of him. For one thing he will be desperate to be reelected in 2012, and that will constrain him even if that smooth salesman's moderate exterior is as bogus as some people seem to suppose.

Well spoken. I'm not the biggest McCain fan, nor do I think Palin would have made a good President. But they were patriots with more experience than our President-elect.

That being said (my final words on the topic), I'm happy our country will be able to get behind Obama. Although I dont agree with his politics, and I believe he misled many voters, he seems like a fine enough individual and I hope he steers us right.

Same goes for me. If you're ever in the area, give me a shout.

Hope you're over six feet tall though! Could this catch on?

Cheers,Al

:D 1,97meters (6ft5ish?)

Plan to visit on off the RB meets next year, but probably bring one of my own bikes, thanx anyway and maybe see you 'round.

Lovin' what I've started here...nothing like arguing about politics or religion and then deciding to screw it all and go biking  ;)

Go here http://www.politicalcompass.org/ and take the test to find out your true political leanings. After that check out the bit further down the page where it says "region specific" and have a look at "US Presidential Election 2008"....doesn't look like Obama's a socialist to me :)

I'd post up a copy of my graph but our American buddies would probably melt just by gazing upon my "redness".
