yeah - been looking it all up on the web. The tower is ideal to start my Linux education...
I rebuilt 2 laptops and a desktop PC today!

Actually, I'd go for one of the laptops. You should be aware that any modern linux desktop setup will require similar system resources to Windows XP (not quite so much as Vista though).
One of those laptops should run something like xubuntu quite nicely I'd think...
