You might get a request from windows to update to the newest Explorer 8

Might I suggest you leave it for a bit ... I did and it's not so stable and is also screwing around with McAfree

Bless windows

(please form a line for window bashing)

Thats a nasty cough you got there !!!

With my Boy scout medical badge training the treatment is being SHOT !

The simple rule I have follow for years is don't upgrade for at least 1 year ... it might work by then !

Must of been the mix of drugs I've been taking ...Multivitamins

My Firefox is playing up too, though that might be more to do with my daughter dropping my laptop and cracking the case back and front

IE8 has not been released, its only in Beta2 at the moment.

So windows would not ask you to update, well probably unless you have used the beta1 of IE8 which you will have had to install yourself.

You'd also have to have signed up for beta testing surely?

Not signed up to any testing .... and it was ver 7

So your title/first post is wrong and it updated to IE7 and not 8 as you said ?

IE7 is actually stable, been using it all over the place for a long time now. Sounds like McAfee is not compatible (some integrated into the browser part) you may just need to update it.
