Seconded. DO IT.

This is the one I'm thinking about. My daily hack. Gotta say I don't mind the bar/stem combo as-is though.

Nice Dawes, is it an escape?

Nice bikes those, Reynolds 500 I think which is unbutted Cro mo I think?

What happened to the Deore it should be wearing?

I’ve just pulled the trigger, so watch this space on the bj, ironically this will be a double bubble purchase, as it will release the ti stem and bars for my Roberts

Thanks! Apparently this one was bought as a bare frame from new. Previous owner built it up with a mix of parts. Below is the for sale thread.

I've been pulling it back to a more harmonious spec little by little. Got a DX mech waiting which will look right, at least. Shifters are Deore, front mech is DX I think. Hubs and headset are 105, which is kind of cool IMO. Screw on freewheels FTW, this will always be cheap to keep on the road!

It's 500 tubes and 531 forks. Rides lovely!

Yep. Good call.

I'm not sure the Dawes needs it... On the other hand, if I ever get round to rebuilding my Ranger...

Glad the Dawes is heading in the right direction. Chainset and pedals look a bit off to me to be honest.

But as long as it’s gettinh used that’s the main thing
