WTD Track saddle support thingy!

I am after a track saddle support that supports the tip of the saddle to the frame using a bottle type screw idea, if any one can help would be much appreciated.

Being a sailor, this did cross my mind too. Stainless as well...
Going to hold out for one designed for the desired purpose, for now. Thanks for the thought though : )
 
Hmm..stainless wouldn't be very period correct, probably, too...

Brooks made a model specific to their own saddles, which fitted in the back of the nose bolt, but other than that, they all look pretty home made.

That is useful to know, thanks for that, that may well be the way I go at this rate. I did miss one on ebay but then it was £35..
I will try and find a pic of one and get a look at the component parts in detail.
 
Should be OK as long as there's not too much length of the smaller rod exposed.
The thin rod is designed for tension rather than compression, so could buckle under the load.
