I can't wait to get this now....

I can't find the exact spec it should have been as there doesn't seem to be auk 1985 catalogue online anywhere.... Looking at the year before and after it seems Suntour Cyclone 2 gears but I like the Shimano that are on it.... Although campag nuovo gran sport looks like a nice option and was supplied on the competition in the 80's.... Thoughts?

Yep, white tape and gum hoods. Great bike. More info on the 85 comp here:

Thank you, I had seen them already....I would like to get a copy of a1985 catalogue but I'm beginning to think they are rarer than a clean professional cyclist....

I'd stick with the shimano as it works whereas anything else from that period is a bit fernickety

With all due reverence to the 'King of the skip monkeys'. 1985 was pre mass market indexed shifting so everything was a bit pernickety, most of the basic designs from all the major companies had not changed since the early 70's....

So ya pays yer money and takes ya choice :!: :!: :!:

1985 was Dura-Ace indexed so why not stick with the big S.
