Dave Yates Diabolo

Nice daiblo too. Any plans for it?

Thanks. Well... I've been a bit un-retro over the weekend... after the scary rigid ride I've upgraded various components to bring it up to date. I feel a bit of a retro-philistine. I've fitted Marzocchi Z3 Bombers, V-brakes all round, Mavic Crossland wheelset and a titanium saddle. I do have retro USE green anodised handlebars on it though  Also still have original LX STI, rear mech and chainset.

Think of it as having a VW campervan and sticking a porsche engine in it like Jamie Oliver did... the old world and the new world meet in harmony. Sacrilege it might be, I call it sympathetic enhancement.

I've yet to ride it - feeling crappy with man-flu today and I was wondering why my shoulders were aching until I realised it was yesterday's bone shaker of a ride!

rigid with straight bars is no good for us oldies
put a set of wide risers on does make a big difference.

a bit less trouble than a vw bus i hope.

btw my p2's have mtbx 1991 and a serial number stamped on
the steerer tube no makers id (unless it's mtbx)
not spinner.
the rigids from a old rockhopper do have spinner on them tho
