Marin Pine Mountain One

I couldn’t resist the retro inspired Pine Mountain One so bought a new one last summer.

Rode it once up the road, weighs a ton so looked to loose some weight! Ditch the SRAM 10spd and trick it up a bit. So far it’s got:

Thomson seatpost
Chris King headset
DMR magnesium V12s
11spd XT M8000 mech, shifter and cassette.
KMC chain
Blackspire chainring with aerozine orange bolts
Renthal chainstay guard

I was going to fit a new flite titanium but the original orange paneled saddle just looks right.

Re:

Looks quite retro until you look a bit closer and then it’s bang up to date. I’m inteigued as to what the “bridge” is for on the forks though??

Re:

It’s 27.5” wheels. It was strange to ride at first, the newest bike I own prior to this is a 2001 RC300. The handlebars are over a foot wider for a start!

The bridge is I think to provide a mudguard mount. I didn’t like it at first but I don’t notice it now to be honest.

Re:

Good stuff.

I have been tempted by these in the past but ended up getting a P7 instead. Still look at them but have no more space.
