1955 F. R. Russell Rebuild

I need what I think is a 2BA grease nipple for the bottom bracket, if anyone can confirm I have that size right? The annoying thing is I know I have one floating around the shed of dread but it could well be wedged between the floorboards! Its currently 'unavailable'. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Re:

As we're about old bikes, why not old threads? I think the geometry of yours is not dissimilar to the OPs. Despite his being set up as a fixed wheel BITD it may more usually have built around a track frame and not what looks to me like a road frame viz mudguard mountings and forward facing rear ends.

Some info at https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/185021/ although you may already have seen it.

Do you have those rather fancy Nervex lugs?

Have a look at this one https://www.pedalpedlar.co.uk/products/ ... road-frame - I dare say you've seen it already.

Re:

Yes, I believe they do count... Old tel described them as "lovely Nervex Legere Series 48 lugs" above. And I could have sworn they were series 46!

But seriously, it never fails to amaze me the depth and breadth of bike related knowledge you find on this forum.

Must admit i have enjoyed this old machine over the winter months and just can't make my mind up re having it refinished or not . Lee Cooper has given me a quote for doing the paint work and adding a set of bottle cage mounts so just need to work out whether to get it done or not now .

Yes they are a nice set of lugs for sure and deserve to be shown off more .
