Hope refunding price difference on their HB.160

Re:

In the scheme of things, and in the market they're aiming the bike, I don't see the issue at all.

It's a premium bike, with a premium price tag.

The Hope, or this...

I know nothing about them, but £6K RRP apparently.

I know which one I'd prefer, and it's interesting how the £6K one is built largely with 'regular' Hope bits and bobs...

Anyway, whatevs! :)

Personally I think it's a good move. Opens it up to more MTBers, and shows Goodwill, which is invaluable for a quality brand.

I am definitely considering selling my Triumph Street Twin and getting a HB160 instead

I can't imagine any owners are angry to be receiving a refund...?

It makes it more accessible without any compromises.

The bike sold way better than Hope predicted (according to internet chatter, admittedly) allowing them to recoup development costs far faster than they expected, so long as they get them out the door fast enough.

it's a business move that all to often wouldn't be taken due to greed. I applaud it.

And FWIW, at least one of my bikes was about £4k in 1994*, so this is hardly unprecedented pricing.

*Of course, I bought it many years later for far less than that!!

Looking forward to seeing all the lovely pics, outside of a photoshoot
