This mornings pick up at car boot

Re:

Small update:
After going through everything on it the only thing wrong is a little play in bb and a puncture in front wheel.
It has a mixture of shimano running gear with a dia compe canti brake system. Looks like the dia compe brake blocks are original also.
It did clean up ok but has quite a lot of rub marks in the lacquer which really spoils it so I gave it a good soak in silicone spray to make it gleam so the mountie(Steve) can sort some pics out for the thread later on.
To remove the silicone it will get a few kettles of near boiling water then I can t. Cut and wax for the final finish

Re:

£30 and ready to ride bar a bit of elbow grease  Great condition too.
M550 drivetrain was underated IMO. The rims were made by Sun but it looks as if the logo has faded from the circle to the left of 'Levanter'. Brilliant - enjoy it :D

Re:

That's ace.

The DX thumbies are worth the price paid on their own.

It's interesting, DB must have been early adopters of top routed front mech cables as they had to use a top pull DX front mech on their LX builds cos there wasn't one in the LX groupset.

My Response is an almost identical spec, but with X-1 brakes.
