Re:

Can anyone please tell me what model Philips CDM unit is in my Meridian 506 20 bit player?

I had the answer a long time ago, but the bit of paper I wrote it down on is not in any of the several dozen places I was certain it was.

Of course this might all be a waste of time, but I have a CD player with a dead transport and I am loath to bin it without giving it a chance of being fixed.

The 20 bit is from around 1996, so most likely the cd rom version rather than the CDM series. When the drawer is open is the laser pathway curved or straight?

Try Philips CDM 12.4

Apache is a member on here who may be able to advise. Meridian dont support the model anymore but I can ask a mate who works there.

Re:

It has a straight laser pathway.

I remember taking the case off a long time ago, but foolishly did not repair it at the time although the transports were available.

The non working one is my 'spare' which sits on a stand with my other 'headphones only' seperates in my man cave, so it would be nice to press it into service again.

Re:

This featured a few pages back....but has since sat in my flat unused and is just in the way as I will never get round to setting it up. Worked beautifully until it was unplugged to move. Any idea what I could get for it roughly if I put it up for sale locally....?!

Re:

Actually, thinking about it, if it's really worth that sort of money, can any one advise of the best way to sell it....? Is there a specialist FB page, or website or forum....? Or shall I just eBay it, 'collect only'...? :?
