That's a really nice job Mike... another steel frame saved

Thanks mate ;)

Got cracking with the build this afternoon.

Some nice retro tyres arrived today, so I fitted them.

Like them so much, I ordered some more.

Almost finished building the bike now, just waiting for some brake and gear outer cables. Here it is so far.

Also need to put the bottle cages on! Just remembered, looking at that photo!

Only the front brake cable is done, not enough outer for the rear one. Is it too short? Is the routing ok? Not sure about that, as I normally go aero.

I like the mix of shiny parts with dark burgundy and the gold lug luning

Hope you like it!

It's a thing of beauty and class Mike :)
Looking very smart and looks just right to me, not over the top but classy for sure.

Cheers Jamie!

Glad you like it ;)

Should I run bare gear cables around the bottom bracket guides, or use a sleeve on them there?

Very smart :). Just run bare wire through the BB guides, the brake cables might be better uncrossed as they pass behind the bars :)

Thanks Shaun, I did wonder that. Behind is right, isn't it?

Re:

Set in stone then!
These are the only calipers I've ever seen with a left hand cable entry

BITD Weinmann brakes beloved of TT bods had the cable on the left, opposite to Campagnolo....

Back to my roots then!
I wonder who that is, a seeded rider if his number is anything to go by
