Amongst a recent freecycle collection was a Kona Fire Mountain frame with a repair weld on the drive side rear dropout. I'm always dubious about building bikes up that have scars like this. I need some reassurance so please can i see some pictures of bikes with other such visable scars?

I had an old bully bash guard bmx with a weld in the back of the seat tube/stay joint. I just never trusted it enough to push it and ended up selling it after hardly using it. Shame really but I couldn't forget about it.
