Dustcaps for Shimano PD-6207 3D printed

Hey everyone,
I have a pair of PD-6207 pedals in nice condition, except for the dustcaps. One of them is missing and I cannot find any on the net.

Since I am an engineer with access to a 3D printer, I was wondering if there is anyone who has some experience with using 3D printed dustcaps? I could create a CAD model and print it out.

Thank you for your responses!

...which might explain why I've been known to whittle pedal dustcaps out of hardwood.. with threads that would make an engineer wince.. Good luck with your 'hammer'... :)

Re:

I also thought of (hard)wood, but since the dust caps have a little angle I'm afraid that my wood working skills are not that good to make them.
Would look cool though!

Yeah you should be able print them in PLA or ABS no probs. Something like an Ultimaker will be more than capable of the job. Think about what way up you print them because they'll probably need some kind of support structure to support the print. You can dunk the final part in acetone to smooth it off and form a kind of skin, which also makes it a lot stronger.
