Excelto{o} hubs . 36 hole f/r
Have just purchased a used pair with Simplex qr skewers . Have polished up a treat .
Fw and fixed rear Circa 1970's . Anyone else using them .
Pictures coming tomorrow .
Bulding on Mavic Argent 700c rims . Reckon they should make for a strong wheel

I remember them from the 70's, by then I think they had dropped the second "o" in their name............god knows who actually made them. We tended to use Atom and Normandy for cheaper wheels but the clever money went for Suzue :)

Re:

very old french firm

advertisement from 1931

and a pair of hubs from late 30's or 40's but with round holes : Exceltoo Super Competition

other version low flange in steel at that time

later version - probably the one you have got abandoned the round holes for the "kydney shape" one.

Don't know if in the seventies Exceltoo was still "independant". Doubt it. Probably was swallowed by a bigger one such as Maillard ( which swallowed Atom and was producing also the Normandy hubs)

Re:

Francis Thurmer still has some new ones on his ebay site.Alwaya wondered if they were made by Maillard.
